Our unforgettable visit to The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale

When Farming Meets Fairways
There are few sporting events that capture tradition, history and atmosphere quite like The Open Championship. We were lucky enough to spend two unforgettable days at The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale, watching the world's best golfers tackle one of the finest links courses on earth.
Now, before anyone starts asking... yes, farmers are allowed to like golf. In fact, we'd argue there are more golfers hiding in tractors than people realise.
Mind you... if you've done a full day of harvest, still have enough energy for golf afterwards... did you really work that hard? 😉 (We're joking... mostly.)
Golf & Farming – Separated at Birth?
One has million-pound prize funds. The other has million-pound machinery bills. Both rely on patience, precision and praying the weather forecast is wrong. A gust of wind can ruin a drive just as quickly as it can ruin a day's spraying. Both also have an incredible ability to make grown adults celebrate over something that looks very small to everyone else- a perfect iron shot or a perfectly straight tramline.
The View from the 18th
Standing beside the iconic 18th green, surrounded by thousands of fans, really reminds you why The Open is golf's original major. Every roar echoed around Royal Birkdale and every putt had the crowd holding its breath. The atmosphere was simply incredible.

Meeting Tommy Fleetwood
One of the biggest highlights was meeting local hero Tommy Fleetwood. Southport was firmly behind one of its own and it was refreshing to meet someone who remains humble despite competing on golf's biggest stage.
Farmers Love Golf Too
One thing The Open reminded us is that farmers aren't just farmers. Behind every tractor is a person, behind every farm is a family and sometimes it's nice to swap muddy boots for golf shoes. Supporting British Farmers is about celebrating rural life in all its forms, not just in the field.
Over to You…
Did you make it to The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale?
Which golfers did you manage to see?
And be honest… who's sneaked a round of golf in when they told everyone they were 'just popping out to check the fields'? 😄
